BK Polyomavirus (Human Polyomavirus 1, BKV) belongs to the Orthopolyomavirus genus in the family Polyomaviridae. The deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of BKV is approximately 5 kb and in the form of circular and double-stranded DNA. Laborant BKV Quant RT-qPCR Kit detects quantification of the BK virus by real-time PCR (qPCR). This kit is used for the quantitative detection of BK virus with multiplex PCR. Kit contains 4 standards (BKV-S E3, BKV-S E4, BKV-S E5, BKV-S E6) that include a certain number of virus copies. The copy number of the unknown sample is calculated through these standards.
