The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an enveloped, spherical, positive-stranded ribonucleic acid (RNA) virus about 55 nm in diameter. According to the latest updated classifications, there are 7 subgenotypes of HCV. HCV is a major viral infection affecting 185 million people worldwide. Effects of chronic infection include portal hypertension, hepatic decompensation and encephalopathy, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Laborant HCV QuAnt RT-qPCR Kit detects quantification of the Hepatitis C virus by real-time PCR (qPCR). This kit is used for the quantitative detection of Hepatitis B virus with convenient one-step and multiplex PCR amplification. Kit contains 4 standards (HCV-S 5E3, HCV-S 5E4, HCV-S 5E5, HCV-S 5E6) that include a certain number of virus copies. The copy number of the unknown sample is calculated through these standards.
