This test is designed to be used as an aid in the detection and differentiation of gastrointestinal pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites, as well as to identify strains associated with gastrointestinal illness. Utilizing a one-step multiplex approach, the test enables simultaneous reverse transcription and amplification of specific sequences for key pathogens like Adenovirus F40/41, Rotavirus A, and various strains of E. coli, including STEC stx1/stx2 and E. coli O104:H4. The panel also identifies significant viral agents like Norovirus and Astrovirus, bacteria such as Campylobacter and Clostridioides difficile, and parasites like Giardia lamblia, providing a comprehensive diagnostic tool for effective clinical management of gastrointestinal diseases.
