Human polyomavirus 2 (JCV), also known as JC virus or John Cunningham virus, belongs to the Polyomaviridae family. The DNA of JCV is approximately 5 kb and in the form of double-stranded. Laborant JCV Quantification Kit detects quantification of the JC virus by real-time PCR (qPCR). This kit is used for the quantitative detection of JC virus with multiplex PCR. Kit contains 4 standards (JCV-S E3, JCV-S E4, JCV-S E5, JCV-S E6) that include a certain number of virus copies. The copy number of the unknown sample is calculated through these standards.
