Herpesviruses are commonly found in humans as well as many vertabrates such as fishes, birds, reptiles and mammals. Eight different human herpes viruses in three genera have been discovered; alpha-, beta- and gamma-herpesviruses. Three species are classified in alpha-herpesviruses: Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), which responsible for oral herpes and cold sores, Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) causes genital herpes and Varicella-Zoster virus (VZV) causes chicken pox and shingles. Laborant HSV1/2 QuAnt RT-qPCR Kit detects quantification of the HSV-1 and HSV-2 virus by real-time PCR (qPCR). This kit is used for the quantitative detection of 2 types of HS Virus with convenient multiplex PCR amplification. Kit contains 4 standards (HSV-S E3, HSV-S E4, HSV-S E5, HSV-S E6) that include a certain number of virus copies. The copy number of the unknown sample is calculated through these standards.
